Hi all,
I've just ordered a new 1.4 Griffin 90PS and would like some advice on keeping it clean. Yes I know how to clean a car but wanted to know if any products make life easier for internal valet please i.e. any great dust collection cloth or device out there?
How often should you wax/polish a new car? Can I use a product that will protect the alloys? Should I treat a brand new car any differently when I first get it home?
Probably stupid questions I know but this is my first brand new car and I really want to keep it in great shape! Many thanks in advance

In terms of interior cleaning, I would just recommend a regular vacuum every couple of weeks and wipe down plastic trim with a damp cloth to remove dust. However, I would recommend getting a soft cloth (NOT MICROFIBRE) to wipe down piano black trim as it scratches very easily.

Outside, I would recommend waxing and polishing every 3-4 months. However, I would always clay bar the car before applying wax or polish as otherwise you're effectively rubbing contamination into your paint, in turn creating more swirls. Get some decent wash mitts and use the two bucket method, one for rinsing your mitt and one for soap.

I'd recommend Autoglym super resin polish and Meguiars Liquid Wax. Also consider using spray sealants such as Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax as these can literally be sprayed on to the paint And then sprayed off with a pressure washer.

Thanks all, very appreciated!!!
If you have a bit of spare cash, you can pay a reputable company to clean and spray a specialist wax over your car,Depending on how good it is, it can last between 3 to 6 months. When I bought mine it had this already applied, and literally meant all I had to do was wash the car by hand, and dry it, no need to polish it. It can be expensive depending how deep you want them to go, I'm thinking about having it done again at some point as it made my life so much easier, rather than having to spend 3 or 4 hours cleaning and polishing and getting swirl marks in the paint.
