Picked this beauty up just before Christmas from Drive Vauxhall Bury St. Edmunds and gave her her first wash today. DiamondBrite makes it so easy to get the muck off!
Went for the 1.0 turbo with 115 BHP as I figured it'd be close to the economy of my old 1.3 CDTI Corsa whilst remaining nippy and fun. It also looks amazing in my opinion.
Need to get the number plate screws sorted as they're cheap coloured caps off of eBay. So going to get Vauxhall to sort them properly so they're coloured not silver, along with my windscreen trim seal which is already coming away from the screen...
Been to Vauxhall today to book my car in to have some work done. Not happy that it's so soon after picking the car up brand new... Plastic trim at the base of the windscreen has come away and is now letting water in below it. Shouldn't happen a month after buying the car! Drive Vauxhall are also getting me some coloured screw caps for my number plate AND emailing Vauxhall themselves to chase up my "left-for-dead" Intellilink R3.0 unit... Will post here with updates after Wednesday!
Sad to hear you are having problems with the car. Shiny rock is a gorgeous colour when it's clean and shiny! Mine is the same colour and seeing yours all shiny and lovely makes me feel the need to get mine washed, lol! Mine has been back for a recurrent ESP light and message on the dash that first happened only a day or two after delivery. Apparently, one of the battery terminals/connections was loose.
Vauxhall plate screws have been plain plated posidriv no. 12 self tappers on all my cars for years. You can get locking replacements but the base screws are so big the results are not exactly invisible. I fill mine with Araldite and paint over black or white or yellow.
Turns out the gap between the plastic at the base of the windscreen and the windscreen itself is 'normal'. Will try and get a video of this at some point. Would be interesting if you guys have this 'normal gap' too! Might visit Drive tomorrow and poke the windscreens of every Corsa E...
The number plate screws, they don't do coloured ones anymore. They're all aluminium screws so they don't rust. Although, I'm not bothered about rust I just want matching colours!
And finally, my Intellilink R3.0. Apparently Vauxhall has said to Drive Vauxhall that "there may or may not be a software update coming for the Intellilink R3.0 in the future". So I've been told each of the following by different Vauxhall staff now:
There may or may not be an update release in the future...
There will be an update released in the future...
There won't be an update released for R3.0 units in the future as they're focusing on the R4.0 units...
So, take your pick! Definitely sending a forceful email to Vauxhall at this rate!
So, been a while since I posted, but after a very long email to Vauxhall Customer Services I might actually be getting somewhere. Had a phone call tonight from (I think) the general sales manager of Drive Vauxhall wanting to speak about the "issues you've been having with the Intellilink" to quote him. He's going to call me on Wednesday evening to have a proper word so we'll see how things go.
On a slightly lighter not, Phoenix is in need of another clear this coming weekend and I'm still thoroughly enjoying driving her. I love the engine and exhaust tone of the 1.0 turbos! Need to get some new plates from Halfrauds soon as the front plate already has a bubble in it but hey ho!
Firstly, turns out the most useful person at Drive Vauxhall Bury St. Edmunds (besides an old school friend of mine) is their secretary. Since I've been emailing her things have been progressing regarding my Intellilink complaint and the seal gap at the base of my windscreen!
The Intellilink issues which I've been having have been passed onto the Head of Tech at Vauxhall themselves. So hopefully Drive will get an answer soon as to my options going forward regarding this awful Intellilink R3.0 unit.
As for the gap at the base of my windscreen, after sending a picture of the issue, they've finally realised there is a problem! My guess is that when I originally took my car in to have the issue looked at, they didn't know where to look. However, now the pictures have been sent they've said they're going to sort it and I'll get a courtesy car whilst mine is being tended to. A shame Phoenix is having work done so early, but at least it's being seen to I suppose!
Below are the pictures of the offending gap!

Pushed down with my finger (No Gap):
Not sure if anyone else has the same issue on their E, but if you do, I recommend you get Vauxhall to sort it!
That gap won't allow water into car interior. It is just a piece of plastic trim. The screen is bonded into the shell. Any water going down that gap simply ends up in the scuttle drains.

Update from me! Vauxhall have finally given an answer about the numerous issues I've been having with my Intellilink! Basically my car is booked in for Thursday and Friday to get the trim resealed around the windscreen. Also, they've told me they're going to update the software on my Intellilink to try and fix the issues I've had whilst my car's with them.
I've not got high hopes for this software update though, and I'm still annoyed that no more 'Apps' are being added to the R3.0 units despite information what information at the time of me buying my car said. Looks like I'll have to make do with crappy BringGo after all... :'(
I'm holding out for IP23 too - has it been released yet Jarviser? Worst problem with mine is it refuses to turn on. I can touch, press, and even jab at the on button several times before it decides to fire up. I think I counted 10 times today.
I'll ask my dealer again.
If turning off has no effect I try either vol up or down buttons on the unit, or the source waggle switch on RH of steering wheel to change presets. Sometimes that wakes it up.
I never had that until IP22!
Cheers for the heads up guys. I've been offered the IP22 update... Joy of joys! If the IP23 update's not out yet then I'll let them shove IP22 on and see how bad it is. If it's more broken come Friday evening, more ammunition for when I complain again!
Check the software version before and after to ensure it takes. First time they tried on mine it was unchanged and I had to take the keys back and have another coffee while they tried again.
So, I had the first software update done for my Intellilink R3.0 when Phoenix last went into Vauxhall. All my mentioned issues were solved, but it now has the issue where stations don't always play when the ignition is turned on.
Further to that, there's now a rattle which has developed in one of the speakers in the passenger door. I've booked the car into Vauxhall for Monday so we'll see if they can solve that. They're also going to look at the rattle under acceleration which I've seen is related to gear linkage cables or something along those lines hitting the heat shield.
Hopefully they'll get all the remedied in time for the BTCC at Snetterton next Sunday where I plan to show my Corsa off in all its glory.
Only got the first update. Had it done a while back now. Once I see people posting about getting the second update I might pop it back into Vauxhall then.
So, Corsa's going in again on Thursday to have a new speaker fitted. They found that one of the speakers was indeed broken when it went in on Monday but they had to order one in which is arriving tomorrow.
Also going to take a technician for a test drive regarding the engine rattle as they couldn't hear it...
A bit disappointed the speaker's already gone considering my Corsa D with 100,000 miles on it didn't have a speaker break on it at all before I scrapped it!
