Re: 1.4 non turbo mods

Echo what others have said. You'll prob need a remap (£300), air filter (£50) and free flowing exhaust (£400-500) to push 100-110bhp (I think that's what the 1.4na map to). It will make a difference. The question is are you planning to keep the car or get rid at the earliest opportunity for somethin...

Re: Anyone do their own service?

I've done the oil/filter on mine a few month ago between services and it's fairly painless. The oil filter housing is in the engine bay so that's nice and easy. Just need to jack the car up a bit to get at the sump plug. So long as you've the tools to do it yourself I'd say go ahead. Can save a fort...

Re: Which corsa e should I buy?

Given what the car is going to be used for. My brain would go with the 1.4 75bhp version. It's insurance group 3 vs 11 for the 1 litre turbo. So that's a no brainer. There is also far less to go wrong given it's a traditional tried and tested 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Could throw the 1....

Re: Road/Tyre Noise and droning - Corsa VX-Line

To be fair they are pretty crap for road noise. I owned a Corsa D VXR a few years ago on 18s and I'm fairly sure it wasn't as bad as the new E lol.

Probably cost saving on thinner metal and less sound absorbing materials

Re: 1.4 Turbo remapped and Lowered

I had mine remapped at the start of the year to around 170bhp. Love the power increase, it can keep pace with some of the junior hot hatches now which is nice and often a surprise to them  the handling as standard is shocking. Been thinking about Eibach springs for mine to sort the handling out.

Re: £100 for Intellilink update

Trying to charge for a software update  I've heard it all now. As part of the service aren't they suppose to check if there are any updates for the ECU and Entertainment systems and do them if there are?

Re: Break pads changed at Vauxhall shop

A lot of genuine parts are usually manufactured by third parties. This is the case for other car manufactures too, not just Vauxhall. Though they do sometimes stamp their own branding on it so the end user can't tell. You could query it with the dealer that changed your pads but they will probably s...

Re: Road/Tyre Noise and droning - Corsa VX-Line

I'd say wheel bearings.

Both of mine were shot at about 12k miles on the front. Replaced under warranty.

Gradually got worse over a few months in my case, so knew it wasn't just normal tyre/road noise.

Re: Time to Give Her a Clean

Honestly, it depends how much you want to spend, how through of a job you want to do and how much time you have to do it. All of the brands you mention are good, as to which is the best is a matter of opinion really. Autogylm stuff is good for a mainstream brand and Halfords sometimes have 3 for 2 o...

Re: Metallic Rattle Under Load

A noise that wasn't there before but has recently started isn't normal or a characteristic of the engine at all. I've heard that excuse mentioned a few times. I'll let you know my findings after I've had a poke around at the weekend.
