Re: My second Corsa

Surely someone has done that themselves as a sort of VXR replica? I can't see you being able to spec it like that from Vauxhall! In which case I'd be more concerned about your insurance being valid... as technically anything that isn't standard on an SRi VX-Line would need to be declared as a modifi...

Re: My second Corsa

Erm... the photos are of a VXR not a SRi VX-Line?

Unless someone has done a very convincing replica complete with the shell backed recaros, brembo calipers, exhaust and the rest of the bits

Re: 66 plate 1.4 Sting (9,000 miles and 49% fuel left - normal?)

Modern fully synthetic oil should be good enough quality to last 10-12k and a year under normal driving conditions regardless of the fuel type of the car. If the manufacture have stated in their literature that the oil they provide on a service should go 2 years or 21k on the Disco Sports and it's n...

Re: ECU checks (when under warranty)

Most dealers probably wouldn't have the equipment needed to see if it's been remapped if that's what you're getting at? That being said, they might be able to see something has changed if the checksum digit has changed from what it should be due to files being modified. So then would probably get su...

Re: Second Service Prices?

I know a main dealer will probably have more overheads than a little indy garage but even so. I'd actually like to be a fly on the wall when a 'major' service is carried out in a main dealers, I bet there isn't much work involved. Lot of it will just be box ticking I bet! I know they used to go roun...

Re: Car Wash followed by 'missing' problem

Forget spark plugs themselves. They are happily sealed in the block and are a once in 4 years item. It's either a coincidence and needs a dealer analysis or you got water in the upper wiring/electronics. I presume they didnt power wash the engine bay? They more than likely did  don't give one ...

Re: Clutch judder

Mine sometimes does it initially if it's cold, can be condensation on the flywheel but if it doesn't go away after the first application or two of the clutch then I'd say something more is wrong. Get it back to Vauxhall as it'll still be under warranty?

Re: Second Service Prices?

As Susan says, you win some you lose some! At least others know what sort of prices they should be paying. Also be aware of the hard sell! They wanted me to bring my car back in after winter for a free check. In other words to see if anything 'needs' doing. Considering they told me all my tyres were...

Re: Second Service Prices?

I ended up paying the £249 in the end. I probably didn't need the brake fluid either to be fair. Think I'll get the 3rd service done with them next year, that should be cheaper as it's an interim one and then either do it myself or go a private garage.

Re: attacked!

Is it a write off? Usually if it's less than 6 months old and that low mileage they'll repair it unless it's very bad and not fit to be put back on the road.
