Re: Air con performance

It is dependent on the amount of liquid passing the evaporator per second and the latent heat of evaporation of the specific fluid. To put a small twist, for a given refrigerant and cooling conditions (includes fans, radiators cleanliness..etc), the only parameter that can influence the performance...

Re: Service tyre monitor system

One more thing to check/fix: re-set the typre pressure profile (is on the indicator stalk menu) Make sure it's "light" or "eco" or whatever you had initially. In 2+ years since I had the car, I had 3 such tyre monitoring fault incidents, 2 of which times I had parked the car over night in a electrom...

Re: Engine overheating when idle

Got the same engine, and in the summer (with warm engine), the radiator fan is running a lot, even when idle (I do like my AC on :) ). If the engine temperature goes above 4 bars (or above 90 deg.C) on idle, I'd say there's something fishy going on with the fan switch (donno' if the switch is on the...

Re: Replacement windscreen wipers

I'm kinda fussy on the wiper performance, my history was like this: * new car, OEM wipers. They held for 1 year * Got some valeo ones as a cheap option, can't recommend, visible lower performance than OEM, * Changed Valeo within 1 month with OEM ones * A year later, the OEM were again, less than per...

Re: Air con performance

My car is also in it's third summer. All well. I'd say if the aircon on max is not blowing 'fridge cold' air within 2 minutes from being started, on a hot scalding day, then get it serviced. Probably it wasn't run regularly over the winter (as per car manual), and the refrigerant kinda leaked out. J...

Re: Vauxhall Corsa Intellilink System

I'd be interested in the app as I can't see on Google, could you please pm me? Google for "android auto apk" (no quotes). this will take you to apkmirror site where latest android auto can be installed (manually, so some Android under-the-hood knowledge comes in handy). Is a limitation imposed by g...

Re: Soon to be new owner

Bumper .. hmm .. also check if it needs new front parking sensors (if it had it originally fitted). Also check the cooling circuit and radiators for leaks.

Wheel geometry and door clearences can also be affected if the impact was larger

Re: New Corsa minus AUX port...

If you play the music through the car system, then any Hy-Def part will be limited in quality by the car itself. So you basically get nothing 'extra' if you use the player, outside of familiarity with the player controls (think the intelilink also has a audio equalizer in the options you can tune a ...

Re: Vauxhall Corsa Intellilink System

I was reading some of the grandlandX forums regarding the navigation options. It looks like quite a pain to keep it updated (every 3 months...), and once is updated you still lack details and routes for less traveled areas that (for example) WAZE/google maps provides almost in real time. As you said...

Re: cooling fan

Temperature bars interpretation that I'm using is:

4 bars is normal, no worrys (this is about 90 deg.C)

5 is like a pre-warning (100 C?)

6 is serious issues (110 C ?)

red = boilover and risk for dead engine (first red 120 C ?, second red 130 deg.C)
