Re: Corrosion on alloy wheels

Those two pictures look like ageing smart repairs to me. Corrosion on alloy wheels manifests itself with nasty bubbles under the paintwork (just like rust in a steel body) and the corrosion will rub off as a white powder.

Re: Damage

If there is no paint damage I would get a quote from a paintless dent repair (PDR) operative in your area. Unless you know exactly what you are doing and have hours of patience at hand you will never get that dent out properly. PDR guys will not normally touch a dent with paint damage.

Re: wireless front glass control

My Corsa D did not have this feature, neither does the 1.4T Excite 2018 I have on the drive. It may just be that the feature is not installed on UK spec cars though.

Re: Tyre Pressure sensor fault?

To replace them you have to remove the tyres, then replace sensors, refit tyres and rebalance wheels. Next match the senosrs to the car using an electronic tool (eBay about £10). To answer your question, no I do not think this is a DIY job!

Re: Warranty

It will only be a waste of money if you normally use garages for repairs and nothing goes wrong with your car

Re: Windscreen chip damage

Without proof that the garage caused the damage you are wasting your time trying to claim from them. Just get it done on your insurance - there will be a flat excess fee for replacing a screen but most insurance companies will repair a windscreen completely free of charge

Re: Turbo Town

My wife had a new 1.4 turbo in September last after ten years of driving around in 75ps variants. She loves it and it is a very docile animal at shopping speeds around town. She visits her parents in Wales and appreciates the extra power for overtaking. Fuel consumption is about the same as before b...

Re: Heated screen not working

I cannot help you with a specific fix, but fuses only blow if they are overloaded either by a short circuit somewhere or because a component has started to consume current at a vastly higher rate than it should. If you asked an auto electrician to work through the problem he would methodically check...

Re: Turbo or N/A?

We had a 1.4n/a for 10 years and now have the 1.4 turbo (100 bhp version). The 1.4 n/a is not a great performer which is why it is in a low insurance bracket. It will quite happily get you from A to B and will even overtake other vehicles if you plan the manoeuvre in advance. The 1.4 turbo even in l...
