Car is only two months old with 1000 miles so I'm probably going to take it back to the dealership
Do this, now!

Is the best course of action at this moment.

Re: Heater control.

I'd haunt them every 2 days till they get it right ... and I'd hurry if the car's warranty is about to end, since the hourly rate will be significant for the repair. The heater core and it's control is usually a notoriously hard part to work on, on many cars. It's buried deep in the dash and difficu...

Re: Oil leak?

Could be nothing more than a protective oil/wax film from the factory or somebody spilled a bit of oil at some point. Also, some dealerships make a clean-and-spray as part of their inspection (they did on mine). They spray a bit from a can (i'd expect a solvent or light oil) then they use a rag to w...

Re: Sluggish power and warning lights.

Could be something around the spark plugs. It can simply be a improper coil-pack connection to one or 2 spark plugs, that at high vibration comes loose a bit more, and the spark 'jumps' on the electrical insulation on the outside of the spark plug (this would indeed result in a burnt smell - have a ...

Re: Car "broken into" but no damage or forced entry

It is possible you accidentally pressed the unlock button on the key fob (accidental press in a pocket can happen). Just be sure you have enabled the option to 'relock unlocked doors' for the car (or something like this). This is described in the manual as: if the doors are locked, then unlocked BUT...

Definitely give a VXR a run up 100mph.
Considering the max. legal speed on public roads is ... 70 mph, I know you got to test both cars on private roads/track setting ;)

Enjoy you new ride ! (and stay safe)

Re: Servicing - What needs doing when?

On mine it was like this: First service was oil + oil filter change (year 1) Second service was oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter (year 2) Next service I'm expecting oil, oil filter, brake fluid, brake pads check. Maybe spark plugs (will be year 3) Air filter/pollen filter, cooling fluid, o...

Re: Rattles! Rattles everywhere!

Just thought I'd post my rattles as I get closer to 10k miles 1. Glove compartment area, muffled rattle when going over certain roads/bumps Was caused by: small coin in the back of the compartment and a plastic Jar of Orbit chewing gum, kept in said compartment 2. Insidious plastic-y rattle near the...

Re: R4 Firmware/software

Depends on the region I believe the regions with Android Auto officially available have had a small intelillink update (should be UK, and some parts of western Europe). This update isn't available for the rest of the world. In any case, the dealership will know more (you'll need the VIN for them to ...
