Sounds silly but have you tested your forward collision alert yet? I have mine it on but it hasn't flashed across the windscreen yet. The little Green car appears on the dash board.

I have driven close to a parked car and it has gone off

I managed to get hold of a limited edition capital only London dealers got a few each. which came with 2 grand of extras thrown in
