Mine is Dafny.
It is traditional to name Land Rovers so our three classic Land Rovers all have names and are all female (Annie, Bonnie and Ciggy). We just had to name the Corsa too to avoid it being left out. All the names are derived from letters in their reg numbers. It took ages to come up with Dafny which is a deliberate misspelling of Daphne but spelt DAFNY it is also the name of a compiler software which was appropriate as I'm a software developer. It also starts with a D which was the next letter in sequence of the existing vehicle names.

Cars are female because:
1) they feel great when you ride them for the first time
2) they look sexy when new
3) they get rougher the more they are used
4) they cost a fortune to run
5) as they get older they become prone to breaking down once a month
6) after a while most men start finding other models more attractive

In the interests of balance and fairness to the females (specifically to my wife) they could argue the following:
Cars are male because:
1) In the showroom they promise romance but after living with them a while they fail to deliver
2) As they age their performance deteriates and they tend to drink more
3) They are prone to being dirty especially the more adventurous ones
4) Very old ones seem to spend more time in the garage than with you
5) They often react faster to somebody with more experienced gearshift skills

Going with the paint name could be a hit or miss.

I don't think flasher is a good name for my car

Not sure what mine will be called, my girlfriend named my last one so I think I'll let her do the honours. She did call it 'Gloria' don't know why but rolled with it.
