Came home earlier, switched engine off and got out car, locked it and was walking to the house when I could hear a squealing sound, went back to the car, switched it on then off and could hear it again, so popped the bonnet, started the car then switched it off again and quickly looked into the engine bay, its coming from the radiator fan as it gradually stops spinning when the engine is switched off.

Any ideas what's causing it to squeal as it comes to a stop, it doesnt do it whilst it's spinning, or at least I can't hear it doing it when it's spinning because of the engine running.

Common occurrence. As said above, it's more than likely water, or possibly even needs a grease.

It's Scotland, it rains here pretty much all the time but no its not been raining at all today and ive not gone through any deep puddles.

Doubt rain would cause it. That used to be the case years ago with fan belts but these fans are electric with sealed drive units. Non serviceable AFAIK.
