Alternator/ Battery charging

Hi all,

Currently having issues with my alternator.

Replaced Battery and Alternator in the last 2 weeks

When i start car, voltage is 14.9
Then will either drop to 14 volts, or drop to 12.3-12.5v

Im under the impression that the alternator should always be running over 14v to charge the battery.

Does anyone have this issue? Is it normal?

If the battery is new and fully charged then the alternator will regulate it's output to the batterys needs...

are you running any load when it's in the 12v range?....if not then put on headlights,rear demister,heater blower on full and the output should increase to compensate...
