Spark plugs / Coil pack

Post by Willbowaggins » Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:32 pm

Morning all,

My wife has a 2015 1.2 petrol Corsa, which has 37k on the clock.

A few days ago we ended up calling out breakdown cover as the engine management light was on, together with and 'ESC service' warning on the dash, and the car was incredibly rough to drive.

He advised me that it was the coil pack which needed replacing, so the next day I bought and fitted it, which solved the problem and resulted in all warning lights disappearing.

I think the spark plugs may also need replacing as it is still misfiring slightly - although barely noticeably. I would like to do thus myself. I just wondered whether I need to adjust the 'gap' on new spark plugs prior to fitting, or whether they are 'pre-gapped'?

If they do need adjusting, do any of you guys know the correct amount?

Very grateful for any assistance! Just trying to save her a few quid in the run up to Xmas!!

No you don’t need to re gap spark plugs nowadays they are all preset so it’s just a case of replacing and your good to go
