Oil Filter Part Numbers

Post by esdls » Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:50 am

Hello
I wonder if anyone can explain the two different part numbers for the genuine GM Vauxhall oil filters I have been sold for my Corsa Griffin 1.4 petrol NON turbo numbers 95526685 and 55594651. I have ordered one part number 95526685 and received 55594651 yet last year I ordered and received oil filter 95526685. I have used and been sold oil filter 55594651 in years gone by for my old Corsa 1.2 year 2008 but again in later years ownership I was sold oil filter 95526685. Both part numbers appear together on the Autovox site ?

I am looking back at the photographs I have taken of the oil filter boxes before I used them (sad I know to take photos ) and I think I may have answered my own question but if anyone can confirm this I would be interested to hear it. part number 95526685 is in an Opel Vauxhall logo box and part number 55594651 is in a GM logo box, so my thought are its the same filter but depending on the logo badge its sold under it has a different part number. any thoughts?

Not sure of the part number as we have the 1.0t but it is very common that one filter is replaced by another..

The filter for the 1.0t is a different number and size to what it was 3 years ago....

I have a 2017 SRi 1.4 and recently purchased Wix filters, oil, cabin filter and air filter. They are excellent filters that I've used for years.

Taken from the net
Are WIX oil filters good?
Wix makes a very good filter. The only way to verify the quality is to cut them in half, after use and compare to other manufacturers. Wix has consistently been found to be a high quality filter with high quality components.

Wix part number.WL 7422

I don't know how to upload pictures on this site. Can somebody help?

Thank you for your reply's I thought I would attach the information I found about the Oil filter in both GM and Opel Vauxhall boxes.
You have to click on Full Editor and Preview to attach images. The screen grab is from the Autovaux web page who have been very helpful.

Hello
Thank you for your reply's. The information is very useful. You made me think about the actual manufacturer and I again looked back at my photographs. I am an engineer and when I would repair equipment at work I had to make a record I could refer back to so its just carried on with my own things. Anyway I have attached an image of my new Vauxhall Opel filter from last year part number 95526685 and find it has Hengst written on it along with GM and a quick check with Autovaux https://www.autovaux.co.uk/filter-oil-kit-1480041
Shows a reference to the Vauxhall Opel filter so I think the manufacturer will be Hengst.

55353324 is GM Vauxhall (UK)

95526685 is Opel (Europe)

Either way it doesn't matter as part is identical although price varies as Opel seems more expensive

Bosch also do a Filter as well

I see you have the drop in filter...

The 1.0 is the spin on sort which says GM,made in Germany but is Mann instead of Hengst...

Anyhow...there're all the right ones...
