Error free LEDs???

Post by ChrisHyam » Sat Feb 10, 2018 1:26 pm

Hi gang,

Just picked up some led bulbs for rear number plate and they look great. However, getting error on dashboard even though they were described as error free. Does anybody have any descent leads on where I can get hold of some guaranteed error free ones? Or to cure the error without replacement?

Cheers,

Chris

I had some old w5w LED bulbs that I tried on my Corsa from a previous car but got the same error.

Apparently the Corsa is very sensitive to bulb changes, even 'error free' ones sometimes bring up an error. Lush Lighting City do a kit here:

Personally though I think £22 is a bit expensive for number plate bulbs!

I'm not sure if anyone has had any luck with w5w LEDs not giving an error on these? I'd imagine you'd have to get some good quality ones and pay a bit more for them not to bring an error up. Eurocar parts do some for £9 and I'd imagine you'd be able to return them if they bring an error up, so could be worth a try.

Cheers for that Matt. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can get some from euro car parts or if still getting errors will just have to put up with the warning messages 😂

I tried that but it soon got boring having to clear the message every time I got in the car, so mine got taken out. Plus I think when MOT is due it wouldn't pass if there are any error messages now?

Let me know if the euro carparts ones work!

For number plate you may buy this one;

TRY 54.68 42% Off | 2 Pcs/Set LED Car Number License Plate Lights Lamp Bulb for Vauxhall Opel Corsa C D Astra H J Vectra M8617
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/qw8D6Fe

Licence plate lights need resistors.

However the lights do not fit tight.

Same product, not same price :)

Just get some white halogen bulbs. I got some of these (eBay link below) after experiencing the error issue and although they're not quite as bright, they are still 'bright white'. Hey, I even ordered some spares so was able to swap out the boot light bulb as well.

The LED bulbs didn't go to waste as I put them inside the cabin and used them as interior bulbs as they're the same fitting and bought a few extras to complete the set.

(Be sure to order the blue Xenon bulbs)
