Re: Subwoofer Installation to Standard Stereo

Very nice guide, I too finished mine on Saturday! Thought it would be quite difficult, and the most part it was :x so anyway I had a few issues and I'm not keen on my quality, you'll see in later pics...

The rear speaker behind the side panel, difficult to get to :| and I'm finding it impossible to fit the trim back onto those blue clips! any help? I also skipped the FLI adapter, (Couldn't find one on their website, so I recycled an old PS2 to AV IN adapter! Worked a treat.)

Another thing was that I tugged at this blue connector for the 12V socket but the thing wouldn't budge, I tried taking off the center console, which includes the trim around the stick, which didn't happen because I could not figure out/muster the motivation to find out how/do it.

Any how, I just rammed my remote wire in there and tested it the other side with a voltmeter dongle. worked first time happily although I know its just sitting in there freely  but its survived about 50 miles so far so seems okay.

I taped it down with some pushed in slack so it won't come out hopefully.

Hope this helps others, I'm not sure if the pics will upload  not sure how this operates as its my first post

I believe the blue clips come out and slide into the panel first then get pressed back into the hole.

You Do realise that this is a tutorial right, you can find out how to take out the headunit from an Adam tutorial as they're pretty much the same, but you dont need to really.. the sound quality for me is no different doing it grantz way

Can you just snip the Rca ends off and wire them into the speaker ?

Thanks for the guide! Just hit a slight problem, you put "shove" the blue remote wire into the 12v socket by the aux/USB, do I literally just put the wire in? Or do I need to unscrew it then put the remote wire in then screw it back down? Sorry I'm a noob at all this haha

Put the wire in so it connects to the bare wire part going in to the back of the cigarrete lighter, the positive wire, so the one that isn't black... what i did was pushed extra force into the cigarette lighter and then put some electrical tape around both wires so it is now very unlikely to fall out..
