Changing from manual aircon to Climate control

Post by devon556 » Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:27 pm

Bought myself a Corsa SE last weekend, absolutely love it apart from the manual aircon, I had it only 2007 Corsa D and its such a pain in the backside, i was wondering if I could get VX to modify the car to use climate control, but from what I remember, it would need a new fan, resistor unit, sensors all over the car, plus rewiring and a new dials. So I'm guessing it's probably possible, but would cost a lot of £££ ?

I imagine it would be pretty expensive, even if the Vauxhall Dealer did offer it. The only other way I could think is if you can find a Vauxhall Specialist and maybe get the parts cheaply from eBay. I certainly know of at least one person on ebay selling the panel. not sure about the rest though

It's a factory fit option so needs to be done when ordered.

Doubt dealer can/will undertake this

*Factory fitted option* normally just means it's easier for them to do in the factory. I'm an aircraft engineer, we have modifications done to customers aircraft all the time, it's more a question of how deep your pockets are.

It would be helpful to know the differences between the two system to see what amount of work would be needed.
