We are not the only ones with problems. Seems the host has installed a new firewall that blocks IP addresses that are linked to malicious use. However as I'm on a dynamic IP with BT it will change potentially every few days so may pickup an IP that has previously been used for malicious purposes. You can't implement an IP address blocker when most of your customers are not using static IP's.

See a thread here reporting same issues:

I'm not using a proxy AFAIK, just using edge browser on a windows phone via wifi to my BT home hub.

Thanks Ian must admit when BT put me on Dynamic IP Addressing with Infinity 2 was initially concerned about picking up bad IP addresses but nothing I can do about it as far as I can see ugh this is first issue I have had in over 2 years use ?

Same here Derek, this is the first time I've had a problem like this. It may not be IP related in our case but all the google searches I've done about this issue point to it being the most likely culprit.

Maybe it is a landline or BT problem. I haven't had any problems but all my broadband is 4G including the car and the house (Three's 20GB a month mobile broadband).

I'm on BT infinity (unlimited), work from home as a systems developer. Even a 20Gb limit would be no good as I could use that up in a few days if I'm transferring databases, not to mention the wife and kids watching HD Netflix 24/7.....

BT, despite the perception, has been very reliable and quick for me even though I'm right out in the sticks miles from anywhere. Think I've had no more than 3 full days outage in 10 years.

Odd move to block BT users though as that must make up a fair chunk of users?

Amazing how long 20GB lasts if you're not interested in films or youtube.
I do have to be careful with Mac updates as El Capitan was 5.6 GB

Skim reading the above, indeed when I am connected to BT Wifi (at work) it throws a wobbly, switch to Vodafone 4g no issues. At home on talk talk, no issues with wifi there.

This just came up just now on bt wifi

Hi Ian just asked on BT community & they suggested I force my router to change IP address ?? have just reset HH5 and now
on a different IP Address so see how we get on with this one.

I may try the same. Can't turn it off right now or it will screw my connection up to my works servers, takes flipping ages to get reconnected to them all.

Still working ok at the moment Ian but time will tell. Like you I was a bit concerned about resetting the Hub as took me an age to get it settled last time I reset it but was not too bad this time. To be honest still a bit confused as to why it would affect several of us at the same time mmmm?
