My project for the past 6 years...

2003 Ex-police Volvo v70 t5 SE.
Currently on more than 220,000 miles.
It started as a car to get us out of a bit of a financial pickle (we were given it), it had 173k on the clock and needed a lot of work to get it right.
Repairing it became a bit of a hobby, which turned into an obsession of sorts.
6 years on and it's had...
Uprated clutch,
Big brake upgrade (336mm disks and focus rs calipers)
Powerflex bushes throughout
3" downpipe with race cat
3" custom inlet
460cc injectors
Ipd boost control solenoid
Apex 40mm springs all round
V70R catback
Braided brake lines throughout
Dot 5.1 race fluid
Oil separator tank
Autotech adaptive ecu map
Full leather interior
Carbon interior trims
Family pack (built in booster seats)
Uprated audio....
Loads of other tweaks I can't remember.

Oh, this week I removed the tired old turbo and fitted a TD04HL 19t turbo (very rare bolt on upgrade).

Last time it went on the rollers, it made 278.8bhp (253whp) but since then it's had bigger injectors, 3" downpipe with race cat, and the bigger turbo, so it's making a fair bit more power now.

4th gear hits 150mph @ 7k rpm - she's no slouch lol and comfortably sits behind an e46 M3 at full throttle :)

I'll post some pics later.

She's not to everybody's taste but it's nice to be a bit different and a real sleeper.

The new turbo is now fitted again (long story) and I'm currently setting it up.

Here's a quick pic of the car...

Some nice cars there jezyg! I have had plenty in my time too. Love cars! In fact the longest I'd ever kept the same car was almost 4 and a half years ans that was my last car before the Corsa. I had a 1.2TSI Ibiza, hence my choosing the 1.4T Corsa. How does your Corsa compare to the 1 Series? My brother has a 1 Series and I do like it but Beemers are so expensive!

Thanks, been lucky to have some cracking cars, that is not quite all of them either... Had an A3, two of the original E87 1 Series and a Cadillac!!

Interior quality the Corsa E is very close, build quality has dropped slightly on the 1 Series. Intellink is better than the iDrive Dab system I had in the 1er both in sound quality and usability. Handling is where the 1 Series comes into its own, it really does steer well. The Corsa is quite sharp, just not quite as sharp and rolls more in corners where the 1er would be more planted. Steering feel was also slightly better in the 1er. The 116i was a peach quite economical but very smooth and punchy especially in sports mode. But factor in the cost and what you get standard on the Corsa E, it makes the Corsa a better choice...

On finance as a new car due to decent residuals BMs can work out cheaper than a new Astra or Crocus, the slightly cheaper A3 even more so. One reason we went for the Tiguan was the 6.5K off and excellent residuals meaning we pay £10 more a month for the Tig than we did a the 116i SE...

Corsa is pretty much he best Vauxhall residual wise. Very pretty little car and having at in a new Astra yesterday has a nicer interior.
