just incase you don't go to a main dealer,VX now use Dexos1 oil for all petrol turbo engines so its best to make sure this is used...

Our 1.0t was done in November, all filters, plugs and with service club discount came to £280ish if i remember...

The replacement parts are oil filter, engine oil (Dexos 2 ), air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs. You will be offered a brake fluid change as it should be replaced every 2 years. At the same time the brakes are checked for wear, the suspension checked for excess play and the electronic systems scanned for problems. Everything else is just a visual check. Your dealer will give you a quote if you phone them, and sometimes they do 'special deals'

Yes vx use a new generation dexo1 now in the small turbo engines confusingly it called dexos1 gen2 , just so you can confuse it with Dexos2 i presume.....

It's definitely worth negotiating on price, usually they'll move a little if it means they get your money/business.

If your having the MOT done at the same time, make sure your not being charged full price for this. Most dealers do it for £27-30 when done at the same time as a service. Full price is around £54 if I remember correctly.

The 4th service is classed as a major service and will also involve changing things that so far, probably won't have been changed* unless your a high miles driver.

-Oil + oil filter
-Engine air filter*
-Cabin air filter
-Spark plugs x4*
-Brake fluid (they recommend every couple of years)
-Key fob battery
-Usual checks

You'll probably get all that done a lot cheaper at a good local independant garage. Just depends how important it is to you to have your service book main dealer stamped.

Mine will not be going anywhere near main dealer (Wilsons in Scunthorpe) while I own the car. I got it from them and had problems with them from the start. The dealer stamp is not worth the extra money. At the end of the day it’s only a corsa!
