Hi,
When I reverse up any kind of hill, very quickly, the clutch stinks like rotten cabbage. I have to keep my foot on the clutch while performing this manoeuvre to control my speed. On steep hills, fair enough, but I'm surprised it does this on gentle hills. The reverse gear also seems to be very weak – on some moderately steep hills, it just can't cope at all. I have a 1.4 petrol model incidentally.
Car is still under warranty for another 2 months so I'm wondering whether this is a genuine fault or just the car.
thanks for any help

no issues reversing ours up quite a steep driveway
Re: Clutch smells in reverse
Shouldn't smell at all
Does it feel like it's slipping.
Get it to the dealer whilst it's still under warranty

Doesn't sound right. Do you get any vibration when your using the clutch at it's bite point as well?
Definitely get it checked if it's still under warranty. But if your having no other symptoms of a bad clutch and/or flywheel I doubt they'll change it without a fight.
