Corsa 2016 rear passenger side quarter leak

Post by 01484 » Sat Nov 09, 2019 8:02 pm

I'm struggling to find where this leak is coming from its shows between the rear quarter fascia and the plastic where the parcel shelf fits.
(See picture)
Has anyone come across this kind of leak before?
Iv checked all speak and they are fine checked the wiring sleeve (where wires go in and out of from the car into the boot panel)
Sealed them to make sure it wasn't there, but still it's leaking all I see is a water just sat there I think it maybe from the roof where the plastic thing is (roof rack plastic panel)
Can I remove this to check or does it break upon removal?

Thanks

Took it to vauxhall and they wanting £105 just to investigate where the leak is coming from then there will be charge later to fix this.
I thought forget this it's too much.
Anyone have any idea where it could be coming in from?
Could it be the plastic fascia from the roof?
I know it's not the seals as it's not running in between the seals it's from behind the plastic panel in the rear quarter.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

id check the aeriel grommit to see if thats split, suspect its running down inside, get it sorted, have seen cars with rusted suspension turrets caused by water build up behind plastic panelling going unchecked

Thanks for your reply mate...
I was thinking that too it might be the Ariel mount...
I originally suspected the rubber wiring trunk where the wires go into the boot I sealed it all off with silicone.

Any ideas how to remove the Ariel at the top? Does it simply unscrew from top then can I take the moulding off or do I need to remove the inside roof trim off?

Many thanks

Ive just had my 2017 Corsa repaired (Mine had a water leak in the Drivers front footwell though!).
Water leaks are such an odd one! The only issue you've got is that in order to see exactly where the leak is coming from, the interior will have to be fully stripped out. It could be something as simple as a rivet on the roof panel has broken!
I'm guessing your Corsa has just ran out of manufactures warranty? If so, get it booked in but ask them to see if Vauxhall will pay under a goodwill as it shouldn't be leaking - especially at that age!

Have checked the seal around the hatch ?
Maybe run a few jugs of water while it's open

again run a hose around the ariel , while somebody is sitting in seat to monitor.

Water is a pain, been there.

Thanks guys for your reply.... It was the rubber seal that joins the boot to the car....
Sealed it with glue gun and it stopped now.
Vauxhall were going to charge £105 just to investigate it.
I don't know whether I should ask vauxhall for the proper repair... Do you think it is a manufacture fault as I spoke to someone in Vauxhall and advised me that if it deems to be a manufacture fault upon investigation then they will issue a refund on the diagnostic fee of £105.
I'm thinking iv fixed it now shall I leave it or shall I get them to repair it what you guys think?
There's another problem too I'm not too bothered about it but just thinking if I do get the boot repaired I could get that lights on the fan bit to get fixed too. The area where you switch the controls i.e. fan etc on the light to the second half goes out but then when you smack the area a bit it turns on.

Thanks for your advice guys

Contact VX Customer Service line and send them the pics and see what they say

Glad you traced the problems so this can be used as a future reference but that needs fixing properly i.e. new seal

Thanks for your reply, iv emailed VX and they replied see image... Not sure what to do now they might say it's wear and tear like he saying so they might still charge me the £105 investigating fee then say after it is not covered.
