Stop window wipers in middle of windscreen

Post by Mat7hew123 » Sun Dec 01, 2019 8:35 pm

So it’s very frosty tonight, and I wanted to put a towel on the windscreen to help. I can’t find a way of making the window wipers stay in the middle of the screen to hold the towel in place, every time I move them, I can take the key out of the ignition but they will still return to the parked position. Is there any way of making them stay?

Do you not have a heated windscreen? :geek:

if you put the windscreen wipers on normal speed and not using the rain sensor mode then they should stay where you leave them when you turn the engine off. Mine do anyway but they go back to parked position if they are using the rain sensor mode.

I also have the 2017 VX-LINE.

There is one easy way that I know for non auto wipers, also theoretically it should work on auto-wipers (sensor triggered) as well.

1. Manually engage wiping action (while engine is not running -> this will make the wipers a bit slower)
2. Take out the ignition key a bit before desired wiper position
3. Repeat steps 1..2 until satisfactory results

I have the heated windscreen, but it seems to take a very long time to actually defrost the windscreen. Not sure if there is a problem or not.

When I try to make the wipers stay, i push down on the stalk not up, maybe that's the issue...

Of course it will as it also activates the rear heated windscreen as well.

Try turning off headlights /fan to reduce power consumption
