General Failure

Post by owenstringer » Sat Jun 27, 2020 3:08 pm

Hello all,

Recently my 2015 Corsa E has developed problems with the infotainment system and monitors on the dash.

Messages saying:
“service theft deterrent system”
“service air bag”
“service monitor system”
“service tyre pressure monitor system”

have suddenly started appearing.

The screen for the Intellilink system remains black, when turning on the indicator the usual click isn’t audible, and all of the monitors randomly drop out whilst driving (speedo, rev counter, petrol, temp, efficiency).

Seems serious and wondered if anyone could shed some light on what’s going on with my car!

You could try and disconnect the car battery, say for an hour, and see if that will reset the system

Cars are far too complicated now - so much to go wrong! Give me a Lucas distributor or an SU carburetor and I could dismantle and fix them blindfold (not really but you get my drift).

GMLAN fault, one of the modules is faulty knocking out low speed canbus, needs looked at on the scope and analysing the data.

This can be confirmed by starting the vehicle, manually turning the radio on and seeing if the “Vehicle” menu is disabled, if it is, there’s no low speed bus communication.
