Hello!

I have a corsa LE 1.4 from bristol street currently on pcp.
I feel like i want a bit more power but only recently got the car so cannot give it back (unless i equal the equity).

I've seen a lot of cars exactly the same as mine around but they are turbos. I definitely have the engine bay space to put one in mine.

Was wondering if anyone knows how much you recon vauxhall would charge me to turbo it (as it is on pcp the parts have to come from vauxhall) or even if it is wise to do so? It would also bring my tax down wouldn't it?

Thanks!

I agree with Joeboy. In any case if you go down the DIY turbo route your car will need uprated brakes. Even the lowly 1.4T has disks on the rear and they smaller diameter than those fitted to the 150bhp versions. I very much doubt Vauxhall will do the work even if you ask nicely and hold your wallet wide open!!

You can't just put a turbo on an engine that wasn't designed for it. Not without a lot of work and expense.

Did you buy the car brand new and have you actually spoken to where you got the car from? If they have some 1.4 Turbos in stock they will be able to go through some figures and see what they can do with your current finance. Yeah, it's going to cost you, but it might not be as bad as you think. Especially if your not bothered about going for a car that's a little olde to help offset some of the depreciation hit.

You can get 100-110bhp out of the 1.4NA engine with a panel filter, exhaust modifications and a custom remap. But that's really it and anything else is going to be mega money.

The 1.4 Turbo engines remap to about 160-170bhp with no other mods, so it's a nice increase in power.
